Organic/ Local Food

Foods grown without pesticides or synthetic fertilizers, and no chemicals or waxes are added after harvesting. If processed, it is usually prepared in a way to maximize the nutritional value to those who eat it. Organic produce, prepared food, dairy, and meat can befound here. Fair-trade practices are included in our definition of ecological foods. Includes some special supermarkets that have a few kinds of organic vegetables amid a large selection of conventionally grown produce. Local foods included here are grown near to where they are sold/consumed.

Healthy Dining

These establishments serve wholesome and healthful, fresh foods. Perhaps the ingredients are organic, and vegan foods (no animal products whatsoever) are served. The meats come from animals that are free-range and ethically treated. Endangered fish or marine life are not served here. Category includes cooperative-owned cafיs.

Green Enterprises

A business or service that offers sustainable products or services such as consultancy. Enterprise is managed with resource conservation, social responsible, worker and community wellbeing in mind.

Eco Products

Eco-products produced in accordance with green standards. These stores may have a special display that explains the green products' advantages over traditional goods. Green Product selection is based on the following criteria: necessity of product, safety of use, quality, made from renewable or recycled materials, has responsible packaging, included information on manufacturing practices, and options for disposal, whether it is locally produced and consideration of overall business practices. These businesses can have the Israeli Green Seal.

Fair Trade

A place/business that offers better social and trading conditions and secures worker rights. May support producers, raise awareness and promote higher standards of environmental and social issues.

Reuse Shops

Second-hand shops, flea markets, repair shops, materials exchange, and the Friday Free Market. Significant reused buildings and other examples of reuse are included as well.

Bicycle Shops

Good place to buy, borrow, or rent bicycles, work bikes, and other kinds of human-powered vehicles. Organizations and places to find out about bike safety or advocacy. This Icon indicates other kinds of bike-friendly services and sites.
